about

“Isolation” was written by Screwtop Detonators in 2005. Now in 2020, 15 years later, High Kick Records have decided there’s no better time than the present to put out the previously unreleased track from the band.

The band were just hitting their stride, touring and recording, and penned this song as part of a collection of songs destined for their debut album.

Interestingly enough, after seeing Stanley Kubrik’s “The Shining” Benny Ward wrote the lyrics, the movie seemed to strike a chord and somewhat reflect the feelings of living in the most Isolated city in the world at 22 years of age.

That same year Screwtop Detonators Headlined New Years Eve at The Amplifier Bar, the show was recorded and captures the energy they had onstage.

Four live tracks from this show are featured on the EP, including the previously unreleased “Wish You Were Dead.”

With the recent Covid 19 pandemic hitting hard, and forcing us into Isolation, there’s no better time to blast some loud rock and roll!
